July 01 - EU Funding For Gibraltar – €10.5 Million Allocated
The EU Programmes Secretariat of HM Government of Gibraltar is pleased to announce that, after extensive negotiations, a total of €10.5 million has been allocated to Gibraltar’s European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the European Social Fund (ESF) Programmes for the 2014 – 2020 programming period.
This allocation was announced last week in Westminster by the Rt Hon Dr Vince Cable MP, the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills.
In these days of budgetary cuts and austerity measures throughout Europe, Gibraltar has been truly successful in obtaining an allocation similar to that received under the current programme. Few other countries have been as successful in similar negotiations.
Small and Medium Enterprises, Research and Innovation and Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency will be the main pillars of the ERDF programme whilst Skills and Youth Employment will feature in the ESF programme.
