Jul 30 - Conservative MEPs Threaten Legal Action Against Spain
In a press release published on Julie Girling’s blog, Conservative MEPs have said that if Spain does not desist its “efforts to intimidate and impede the movement of EU workers” they would write to the European Commission to threaten legal action.
Giles Chichester, Julie Girling and Ashley Fox said the people of Gibraltar “will not be intimidated by the ongoing escalation of tensions initiated and sustained by Spanish authorities.”
The release says that “Spain's provocative efforts to intimidate and cut off Gibraltar are unacceptable” and places the latest actions within the wider context created by the jet ski incident and the increased incursions.
