Aug 14 - Spanish Foreign Ministry Official Says Gibraltar Will Eventually Be Spanish In Channel 4 Interview
A Spanish Foreign Ministry official has said in an interview broadcast on Channel 4 that Gibraltar will eventually be Spanish. Ignacio Ibanez was asked a series of questions on Gibraltar and the current border queues by Channel 4 news presenter Krishnan Guru-Murthy as part of the evening news.
In response to questions, Snr Ibanez says that the checks are justified to control the recent increase in tobacco smuggling activity. He also argues that the situation with Ceuta and Melilla is not similar to that of Gibraltar.
