Oct 17 New Environmentally Friendly G1
Her Majesty's Government of Gibraltar has now taken delivery of a replacement G1 vehicle.
The vehicle is a Tesla Signature Model S imported from California by Bassadone Motors.
The Tesla is an entirely electric vehicle and its acquisition is part of the Government's programme to replace its vehicle fleet with more environmentally friendly vehicles. The Tesla vehicle does not produce any emissions whatsoever when driven. It requires charging from the electricity grid.
The Government has sourced the vehicle itself directly as a result of its own research into the most environmentally friendly option.
The vehicle is being supplied via Bassadone Motors on lease terms. The cost to the Government will be approximately £300 per month, with an option to purchase after three years.
The existing Jaguar vehicle will for now remain in Government service with a new number plate.
