The GSD is being run in an “authoritarian and divisive manner” serving to create a “toxic environment” according to Marlene Hassan Nahon who yesterday announced her resignation from the party.
The GSD has released a set of questions it feels the Minister for Financial Services and Gaming, Albert Isola, should answer. The party says that the Government “have not been open and transparent in respect of the failure by Minister Albert Isola to declare his part ownership of Artnell Associates Ltd, a Bahamian company, in his MP’s Declaration of Interest.”
The local law firm Isolas and the Fiduciary Group have issued a joint statement following the recent political exchanges in relation to a Bahamian company called Artnell Associates Limited which was linked by the ‘Panama Papers’ to the Minister for Financial Services and Gaming, Albert Isola.
The GSD has today called on the Government to examine what it calls the “continued poor upkeep” of the North Front Cemetery and ensure the site is in an appropriate condition. At present, says the party, it appears that the cemetery has been “all but abandoned with no effective maintenance program in place”.
