May 19 - Minister Bossano To Address UN Special Committee Of 24 In Nicaragua

Minister Bossano is today travelling to Managua, Nicaragua, to attend the 2015 Caribbean Regional Seminar of the United Nations Special Committee on decolonisation, also known as the Special Committee of 24 (C-24). The Seminar will run from 19 to 21 May and aims to accelerate action in the implementation of the Third International Decade for the Eradication of Colonialism (2011-2020).

May 19 - GSD: Government “Incapable Of Accepting A Truth”

The GSD says it notes the “careful use of language” in the latest Government press release claiming credit for the St Bernard's school idea. According to the GSD, such careful use of language, which it argues is “calculated to mislead the public, while at the same time leaving the door open for some highly technical excuse for not being straight with the public” has become a trademark of the GSLP/Liberal administration.

May 14 - “Same Sterile Criticism From Government” Says GSD

The GSD has quickly replied in the latest series of exchanges on the planned LNG Power Station. The Opposition says that whoever writes Government press releases “either did not see the program in which the Leader of the Opposition answered questions from a panel of journalists or is happy to mislead people with the same sterile line that ‘Feetham doesn’t know what he is talking about’”.  The party says that, just like with the issues surrounding public finances, where financial experts are expressing the same concerns as Mr Feetham, expert reports will demonstrate that Mr Feetham has been right all along: an LNG bunkering installation so close to densely populated areas is not safe.
