Mrs Tobie Franklin D Roosevelt, a member of the Gibraltar American Council, received the Medallion of Honour from Chief Minister Fabian Picardo at a ceremony at the New York Athletic Club last week.
Reacting to the decision of the High Court in the GBGS's challenge against the UK's proposed gaming legislation, the Chief Minister, Fabian Picardo has said that the Government is happy with the findings made by His Honour Judge Nicholas Green in relation to the relative status of the UK and Gibraltar under European law.
Concern has been expressed by the Opposition over the ‘lack of transparency in the process by which housing in the new co-ownership estates is being allocated’. They claim that the process is shrouded in secrecy with public money being used to subsidise ownership.
The GSD Opposition have tabled their questions for the next sitting of Parliament scheduled for Thursday 16th October. Leader of the Opposition Daniel Feetham will be posing a series of questions, which are of concern to the party and to the community at large.
In a back and fourth between the GSD and Government over power issues in Gibraltar, the Government has shut down comments made by the Opposition, insisting that the previous administration failed to address the issue in depth from 1996, until 2011.
