Apr 24 - Alameda To Hold Macaque Awareness Open Day

On the 1st of May the Alameda Wildlife Conservation Park (AWCP) will be holding its second ever Macaque Awareness Open Day.

From 2pm-5pm, the team will be celebrating the 23 species of macaque in the world.

There will be free entrance to the park for all, raffles, a bouncy castle, refreshments, crafts and much more.

A spokesperson said: “Join us for a monkey-themed Open Day of fundraising, in aid of the Barbary macaque awareness and conservation charity. BMAC works in Morocco to conserve the Barbary Macaque in its natural habitat, working with local communities to raise awareness and to help conserve these now endangered primates.”

There will also be macaque-themed workshops throughout the week where the AWCP team will be joined by Brian Gomila from Monkey Talk (booking is essential for the workshops, tickets are available at the reception in the AWCP or the Nature Shop as from Monday 24th April).
