In one of his last tasks as Commanding Officer of the Royal Gibraltar Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Ivor Lopez presented three soldiers with Long Service and Good Conduct medals.

Receiving their awards were Colour Sergeant Michael Sanchez, Sergeant Gavin Lane and Corporal Dale Hesketh. The ceremony took place at Grand Battery House on Friday 21 April, following the 21 Royal Gun Salute in celebration of Her Majesty the Queen’s 91st Birthday.

The Long Service and Good Conduct medal for the Army is awarded to personnel in recognition of long service with 15 years’ reckonable service in the Army, and with a clear record of no misconduct for at least the last 15 years.
