Sep 20 - Local Director Nominated In UK Pageant Awards

When Natural Sparkle, a monthly pageant magazine, first emailed Kelvin Hewitt telling him he was nominated for three categories in their awards, he deleted it thinking it was a joke.

It was only when they got in touch with him for a second time, that he looked it up and saw that it was true – he’d been nominated for three awards.

Kelvin saw he was nominated for the Best National Pageant for Miss Teen Model Gibraltar, and Kelvin himself was nominated for Regional Director of the Year and in the Special Recognition 18 Plus category, for which people can also vote for online.

In an interview with YGTV, Kelvin said: “I was in absolute shock when I saw, at first I was convinced it was a joke of some kind but then when I looked up Natural Sparkle, I saw it was true.”

It turned out Kelvin was nominated after former Miss Teen Model Gibraltar Shyanne McIntosh won the Miss Teen National Elite crown in the UK earlier this year, and the organisers were so impressed with Kelvin’s work, they looked into his work as director for No1 Models and were impressed with what they saw.

They saw he was a dedicated director who was inclusive of everyone who comes to his modeling school, the charity work he’s done in Gibraltar and the fact that he’s worked and choreographed routines for more than 300 models, from an age range of four until 40.

Kelvin is well-known in the local pageant circuit having opened and run No1 Models in 2010, and he has also been contacted by the Mr and Miss Cosmos Cadiz organisers to choreograph this year's show.

The awards will be held in Blackpool in December, and Kelvin said he’s looking forward to representing the Rock and his work while he’s out there.

Voting is open until Sunday 15th October, and to vote for Kelvin and his show for three categories, visit http://naturalsparkleonline.co.uk/awards-voting.
