- 30-year-old Customs Officer dies on duty
A Customs Officer collapsed and died while on duty last night.
The Government, the Collector of Customs and the Officers of HM Customs regret to confirm that Customs Officer Neil Piñero (30) has passed away.
A Government spokesperson said: “Subject to a post mortem and any subsequent Coroner’s findings, it would appear that Officer Piñero died of natural causes not related to his operational duties. HM Government of Gibraltar, the Collector of Customs and the Officers of HM Customs offer their condolences to the family on their sad loss.”
