Oct 17 - Gibraltar Youth Service’s Day Trip To Ronda

Twelve members of the Gibraltar Youth Service came together recently to visit the nearby town of Ronda in Spain via train.

For many it was their first time exploring the old town’s remarkable views; and for some their first experience on a train.

The trip formed part of the group’s development towards a future visit to Tangier, Morocco where they will visit the residents of Dar El Hana; a locally supported Cheshire Home.

It was an opportunity for the group to get to know each other better in an unfamiliar environment before embarking on what may be a rewarding yet challenging experience for many.

In preparation for the trip to Tangier the group have also been involved in weekly workshops where they have been given opportunities to develop their understanding of disabilities, culture and diversity. The workshops’ aims and objectives have been in ensuring the participants are provided some awareness, and are able to truly value and grow from the experience.

The group will meet twice more before they visit Tangier during mid-term.
