Feb 19 - Great Gibraltar Beach Clean Marks First Anniversary
The Nautilus Project (TNP) organised their 21st Great Gibraltar Beach Clean, exactly a year to the day and at the same location where the first clean up took place.
The pilot great Gibraltar clean up took place on 18th February last year with Gibraltar Ornithological & Natural History Society - GONHS at Rosia Bay.
This time, TNP was joined by an energetic group of young teenagers from EcoVibe who cleared up over 12 refuse bags of plastic in just under an hour.
Metalrok LTD was hands on, as always, and collected, sorted and recycled all the debris retrieved.
TNP say they are enormously encouraged by the community who continually join them for the clean ups. However, TNP are also saddened to witness the indifference shown by careless individuals at the last remaining seahorse nursery. In their previous five cleans at the same site in the last year, Rosia Bay stands as polluted as when the first clean up took place.
