LifeCome Care Statement on Pay Concerns
LifeCome Care Limited Gibraltar has said it wishes to address and clarify recent concerns raised by Unite the Union and the Opposition regarding payments to its domiciliary care and home support workers.
A statement continued: “We understand the importance of timely and accurate payment for all employees and are committed to ensuring a smooth payroll process, although we recognise that several issues have hindered this, which we are actively working to address. LifeCome Care acknowledges its responsibility to improve payroll accuracy and timeliness, and we are implementing measures to prevent future issues.
“On November 5th, LifeCome Care processed payments to all employees. However, a number of employees experienced delays due to discrepancies in bank information and changes in preferred payment methods that required verification. Although initial reports indicated that fewer than 14 employees were affected, further review suggests this number may have been higher. We are committed to addressing these cases transparently and are taking steps to ensure employees receive their pay as expected. As of this afternoon, all employees have been paid, with a plan in place to rectify those who have received incorrect amounts. LifeCome Care apologies for the inconvenience this may have caused and commits to ensuring this is not repeated going forward.
“Our team worked diligently on November 6th to resolve these issues, dedicating several hours to identify and address outstanding payments within a 24-hour timeframe. LifeCome Care is committed to providing continued support for employees as they navigate these matters.
“Additionally, we acknowledge that staff have raised concerns regarding outstanding holiday pay. While the responsibility for these payments lies with the previous employer, LifeCome Care is committed to assisting employees in addressing these issues and ensuring they receive the necessary support.
“We are committed to our employees and we will continue to provide them with the support they deserve. We encourage open communication and welcome any further feedback from employees to address any concerns effectively.”
