Supporting Students Through Exam Stress: Citizens Advice Bureau Gibraltar

As GCSE and A-Level exam season approaches, the Citizens Advice Bureau Gibraltar is reminding students and families that support is available for those experiencing stress and anxiety.
A statement continued: "Exams can be a challenging time, and for many young people the pressure can feel overwhelming. The Citizens Advice Bureau Gibraltar offers access to counselling support, helping students talk through their concerns, understand anxiety triggers, and develop practical coping strategies. Having a safe, confidential space to speak openly can make a meaningful difference during high-pressure periods.
"In addition to counselling, Gibraltar Citizens Advice provides a listening ear through its advisory services. Students can speak with trained advisors who offer impartial guidance, helping them organise their thoughts and feel more in control of their situation. Sometimes, simply having someone neutral to talk to can reduce feelings of stress and uncertainty.
"Where more specialised support is needed, Citizens Advice can also refer students to appropriate mental health services, ensuring they are connected to the right professionals quickly and effectively.
"The Citizens Advice Bureau Gibraltar also encourages students to remember that exam results do not define their worth or future. There are always alternative pathways and opportunities available, and no single set of results determines long-term success.
"Beyond immediate support, Gibraltar Citizens Advice is proud to promote its Youth Programme, designed for students or young adults seeking to build confidence, gain work experience, and develop essential life skills. The programme offers valuable opportunities for CV enhancement and personal growth, helping young people prepare for life beyond school.
"Students, parents, and guardians are encouraged to reach out if support is needed during this time.
"We would like to take the opportunity to wish all students good luck on their exams. For more information, please contact: Citizens Advice Bureau Gibraltar - Email: [email protected] Tel: 00350 200 40006"
