A statement follows below:
I am delighted to share another exciting update from the 2026 Spanish National Puzzle Championship, which took place last weekend over three days in Guadalajara and was organised by Spain’s National Puzzle Association (AEPuzz). The championship attracted over 1,500 participants across its four competition categories.
11-year-old Alma Belle proudly represented Gibraltar and delivered another outstanding performance, winning the Children C category and becoming Spain’s Puzzle Champion for the fifth consecutive year.
Alma completed her 300-piece Educa puzzle in 31 minutes, securing first place in her category. This achievement marks her fifth consecutive national title across the three children’s categories (Children A, B and C), making her the first and only child to have won all three age categories. It also marks Alma’s final appearance in the children’s division, as from next year, at the age of 12, she will move into the adult individual category.
In the Pairs competition, Alma teamed up with Antonio Parra Haro from Albacete. Together, they completed their unpublished 500-piece Educa puzzle in 27 minutes and 49 seconds, finishing in an impressive 16th place out of 342 pairs.
Alma also competed in the Teams category as part of team “La Chavalada”, alongside Antonio Parra Haro (Albacete), Alba Verón Sánchez (Aranjuez), and Adrian Lugo Martinengo (Madrid). The team delivered an excellent performance, completing two unpublished 1,000-piece Educa puzzles in a combined time of 1 hour, 58 minutes and 38 seconds. Their result secured 10th place out of 101 teams and earned them a place on stage during the award ceremony.
Overall, it was another very busy and positive championship for Alma, highlighted by a historic fifth consecutive national title and strong performances across all categories in which she competed.
