Visit Gibraltar Hosts Senior Leading Cruise Executives At The CLIA Conference

The Gibraltar Tourist Board co-hosted the annual Travel Weekly Cruise Leaders Dinner on the eve of the Cruise Lines International Association Southampton Conference last week.

The Gibraltar Tourist Board co-hosted the annual Travel Weekly Cruise Leaders Dinner on the eve of the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) Southampton Conference last week.
The dinner which has become an annual fixture, serves as a preamble to the conference agenda, and has been headlined by Gibraltar since its inception, supported by Virgin Atlantic and News UK.
Over 40 cruise companies and senior cruise agencies were in attendance including Seabourn Cruises, Azamara Cruises, Cunard, Norwegian Cruise Lines & Royal Caribbean Lines.
Opening the dinner Minister for Equality, Employment, Tourism & Culture, The Hon. Christian Santos, GMD MP, gave an update into Gibraltar’s ambitious and future developments in the coming year. Accompanying Minister Santos at the event were Gibraltar Tourist Board, Senior Executive Officer, Audisa Rodriguez and UK Head, Media & Marketing, Tracey Poggio-Magnus.
Over the three-day conference, the Visit Gibraltar team had the opportunity to interact with over 500 cruise consultants during the trade fair, educating sellers on Gibraltar’s unique shore excursion experiences.
The Minister for Tourism, the Hon Christian Santos, GMD MP, said: “The Cruise Leaders Dinner is an important feature in our cruise marketing. The relationships built and developed through events such as this, build on Gibraltar’s strong reputation in the market place and continue to open up new and exciting opportunities. We are delighted at the growth in cruise traffic this year and look forward to another year of positivity in this sector.”
