The RGP have announced a number of parking restrictions, road closures and diversions, as part of the wider policing and security operation for this year’s Kings Birthday Parade, scheduled to take place at Casemates Square in the evening of Thursday 11th June 2026.  

A statement from the RGP follows below:

The Royal Gibraltar Police will be implementing a number of parking restrictions, road  closures and diversions, as part of the wider policing and security operation for this  year’s Kings Birthday Parade, scheduled to take place at Casemates Square in the  evening of Thursday 11th June 2026.  

Additionally, parking/securing of bicycles/PLETs will be restricted at some locations,  as directed by appropriate signage.  

Parking Restrictions (2200hrs Wednesday 10th June until further notice) 

∙ Corral Road in its entirety including the M/cycle bays.  

∙ King’s Lines. 

∙ Crutchetts Ramp. 

∙ Landport Ditch Car Park. (Row of parking bays parallel to the city wall below  “Grand Battery” as well as the first row of parking spaces situated directly  opposite this wall) 

∙ Waterport Road opposite Watergardens, to accommodate the alternative Bus  Terminus relocated from Market Place. 

∙ Line Wall Road opposite the GibOil Petrol Station to accommodate the  alternative Taxi Rank.  

Bicycle/PLET Parking Restrictions: 

∙ Casemates Square, Landport Tunnel and Market Place.  

From 08:00hrs on Thursday 11th June, until further notice. 

Road Closures (1600hrs to 2030hrs Thursday 11th June) 

∙ Corral Road and Market Place will be closed in their entirety to all vehicular  traffic. 

1. Access to Landport Ditch car park will be available during this time from  Smith Dorrien Avenue and Winston Churchill Avenue only.  

Note: Access to Landport Ditch and Kings Lines will be completely restricted for  vehicles and pedestrians temporarily at 1920hrs, for a period of 10 minutes, and in  connection with the firing of a 21- gun salute.  

2. Access into Fish Market Road will be available for “residents only” via  Waterport Roundabout, by Gaucho’s Restaurant.  

Public Bus and Taxi Services 

∙ The taxi ranks at Casemates Hill and Market Place will be temporarily relocated  to Line Wall Road, opposite the GibOil petrol station, between 1300 hours and  2030 hours on Thursday 11th June. 

∙ Market Place Bus Terminus will be re-located to Waterport Road opposite  Watergardens, between 1300hrs and 2030hrs on Thursday 11th June.
