Unite the Union has successfully negotiated a number of pay agreements across the private sector in recent months, delivering tangible benefits for its members. The Union is also close to concluding pay negotiations with Mitie Gibraltar and expects to ballot members in the coming weeks.

 

Employees at Boluda Gibraltar secured a 2.9% pay increase, backdated to 1 January. In addition, they received a one-off, non-consolidated bonus at the end of the year, averaging £500 per employee.

 

Employees at Restsso achieved a 3% pay increase, also backdated to 1 January. They further benefited from a one-off payment of £500. Importantly, Unite negotiated a protective clause within the agreement to ensure that hourly paid employees remain 10p per hour above the statutory minimum wage, should future increases to the minimum wage exceed their current rate of pay.
