Dec 05 - Interim Governor Says It Has Been A “Privilege”
As the Governor-designate Lt Gen Sir James Dutton takes the Oath of Allegiance on Friday in Parliament, Alison MacMillan steps down from her role performing the functions of Governor and Commander-in-Chief.
Mrs MacMillan said: ‘It has been an privilege to hold the Keys of the Fortress even for a brief interim period between Sir Adrian’s departure and the arrival of Sir James. Gibraltar is a very special place and it is where Julian and I feel most at home. Performing the functions of Governor has been a great honour and I look forwarded to serving my 5th Governor of Gibraltar.’
Her last duty as Governor will be to inspect an RGP Guard of Honour, accompanied by the Governor-designate, before entering Parliament for the proclamation and oaths.
