Feb 25 - Rosia Bay Indoor Water Park Proposal Approved by DPC
Presenting to the DPC their redevelopment of Rosia Bay, Europa Point Marine Village Limited outlined their proposal to develop the existing mole to feature commercial units and a timber walkway. They also spoke of the proposal’s inclusion of a beach, beach restaurant, car park and an indoor water theme park to be built by North American water attraction giants White Water Industries.
The proposal, met with great interest from the public, was chosen as the favourite by the Government after receiving 17 other proposals for the redevelopment of the area.
Although the proposal was unanimously approved, many Commission members urged the developers to take into consideration the heritage value of the area. The developers promised to extend the beach and make it more accessible to the public. The development will take advantage of its unique and well-loved diving areas, with a dive shop to be available on the mole, along with a small selection of vessel berths and a dolphin safari hub.
