Mar 12 - ESG Laments Port Captain’s Departure During Port Changes
The Environmental Safety Group yesterday paid tribute to outgoing Captain of the Port, Captain Roy Stanbrook. They note that major changes within and adjacent to the Port area require careful management and supervision during this time. They regret the Captain’s decision to leave now but thank him for his co-operation and help.
The group insists that the Port is desperately in need of a ‘holistic plan to manage the rapidly growing number of large projects and industry setting up within its footprint and has publicly called for such a plan on several occasions.’
They add that because of these seismic changes, the Captain’s departure is premature and his valued experience will be ‘sorely missed’.
