Apr 02- Work on Mount Alvernia Balconies Commences
This week, works to refurbish balconies along the west elevation of Mount Alvernia have commenced. Balconies will receive total replacement of balustrades and flooring. Current balconies have become dilapidated and have therefore needed to be supported by scaffolding that has been erected for over a decade.
Contractors and management of Mount Alvernia have and will continue to work closely for the purposes of scheduling noisy refurbishment activities at times when it will cause minimum disruption to residents and staff.
Minister Sacramento expressed her happiness that the project has finally commenced and ‘residents will be able to use these open spaces which offer such spectacular views once again’. The staff has also expressed their delight that the quality of life for residents will be improved and, residents are looking forward to being able to use the balconies after such a long period of time.
