Apr 24 - Gibraltar Youth Service Easter Programme

All four youth clubs have been very busy over the Easter break. Working with the RGP, Laguna Youth Club organised a fun day for the community with club users also involved in distributing baskets of groceries to the older members of the estate.

Meanwhile, young people from Plater Youth Club enjoyed a visit to New Mole Police Station and a ride in the police launch. In order to reach out to more young people, Plater Youth Club worked together with the RGP and also organised a treasure hunt for 8 to 11 year olds from the upper town area.

A group of young people from Dolphins Youth Club was involved in various events throughout the week. They had an opportunity to visit the Royal Gibraltar Police Marine Section where members were shown around the base and were then taken on a ride on one of their interceptor launches and on their largest vessel, the Sir William Jackson. The boat/ship rides were very popular with the young people who were clearly impressed with the vessels’ capabilities. Other events included a movie night and an outing to the Leisure Centre where members had a chance to go bowling and Ice-skating also took place.

The Gibraltar Youth Service seeks to provide extra services to young people by offering new opportunities that will allow them to have new challenging and exciting experiences.

The Gibraltar Youth Service team are preparing a programme of events that will explore other areas of interest and personal development opportunities for young people.
