May 07 - GHA Staff Awards Programme
The Gibraltar Health Authority is now inviting nominations for the 2013/14 staff awards programme. The programme, established in 2006, is designed to recognise and reward examples of individual and team excellence in the provision of care by GHA staff. Nominations can be made by patients, patients’ relatives, carers and friends who have received or witnessed the provision of excellent care either to themselves or others. Each nomination must be supported by a citation detailing the care experienced or witnessed by the nominator.
The awards will be presented to the winners at a special ceremony which is to take place on Tuesday 4th November 2014 at the John Mackintosh Hall.
There are nine different award categories which attract nominations, as follows:
Qualified Nurse/Midwife of the Year
Nursing Assistant/Nursing Auxiliary of the Year
Doctor/Dentist of the Year
Allied Health Professional of the Year
Innovation Award
Support Services Employee of the Year – Frontline
Support Services Employee of the Year – Behind the Scenes
Ward/Department of the Year Employee of the Year
The Minister for Health Dr John Cortes said: “Every staff member’s contribution is important in ensuring the GHA provides the best possible care. But in any one year, there will be an individual or department that, often without realizing, makes a very special difference to someone, and we want to recognise that, and, through these awards, thank them on behalf of the community”.
