Jun 20 - Youth Group Travels to Zahara de la Sierra
A group of twelve young people aged between twelve and fourteen recently took part in a residential week in Zahara de la Sierra, a small mountain town in the province of Cadiz. The group was accompanied by a Royal Gibraltar Police school liaison officer, a teacher from Bayside School and two youth workers from the Gibraltar Youth Service
The week provided the young people with the opportunity to try out new activities which many would either not have an opportunity to undertake in Gibraltar or would not be naturally inclined to try out. Some of these were more challenging than others, such as canoeing, gorge walking, horse riding, mountain biking, a suspended obstacle course and archery.
The week gave the young people the chance to spend some time away from their regular environment and enjoy the area, free from urban surroundings and to experience something totally different in the company of friends.
