Nov 06 - Stephen Mascarenhas And Francis Mauro Win GHA Employee Of The Year Award
Stephen Mascarenhas and Francis Mauro, who work as messengers at the GHA, are the joint winners of the GHA’s prestigious “Employee of the Year Award” at the GHA’s seventh annual Staff Awards Ceremony which took place ear this evening at the John Mackintosh Hall.
The awards were jointly sponsored by Bentley Property Services Ltd, Restsso Trading Co Ltd, Saccone & Speed (Gibraltar) Ltd and The Beacon Press. Meal vouchers were kindly donated by Bianca’s Restaurant, Kowloon Restaurant, Latino’s Restaurant, Casa Pepe Restaurant, Café Solo Restaurant, La Parilla Restaurant and Bruno’s Restaurant, and food hampers were donated by GibMaroc.
Around 140 members of the GHA’s staff and their guests came together to celebrate the long and loyal service of staff who have worked for the GHA for more than 25 years and a range of individual and team acts of outstanding performance in 2013/14 in the 9 individual award categories.
A total of 10 staff received awards for 21 years GHA service, 15 for 30 years’ service and 5 staff received awards for 35 years’ service.
The award winners in the individual/team categories were:
Qualified Nurse of the Year:
Susan Chappory (Enrolled Nurse – Medical Investigation Unit)
Nursing Assistant/Auxiliary Nurse of the Year:
Desiree Castle (Nursing Assistant – Victoria Ward)
Doctor/Dentist of the Year:
Dr Krishna Rawal (NCHD in A&E – now General Practitioner)
Allied Health Professional/Healthcare Scientist of the Year:
Michelle Brown (Orthoptist)
Innovation Award of the Year:
Justin McNeice (Electrical Health Technician)
Support Services Employee of the Year – Frontline:
Sigurd Haveland (Emergency Health Technician)
Support Services Employee of the Year – Behind the Scenes:
Noelle Reoch (GHA Clerk – Primary Care Centre)
