Jan 02 - Former Minister Bernard Linares Dies
Former Minister to the GSD Government, from 1996, Bernard Linares has died aged 80. Bernard served three terms under the ministerial portfolios of Education, Health, Culture and Civic Affairs.
Following his death, the GSD has expressed their ‘deepest condolences to Bernard's wife Maricela, and children, James, John and Isabella. We wish them all strength at this difficult time.’
They dubbed Bernard a ‘formidable teacher, groundbreaking union activist and caring politician’, noting that he cared deeply about those he served. A GSD statement added, ‘A much loved individual, Bernard was a great servant of this community and will be sorely missed by friends and family.’
