Jan 19 - Heritage Trust Membership Initiative Makes Community Pledge
The Gibraltar Heritage Trust is taking significant strides to reach out to the local and expat communities via the launch of a membership initiative, sponsored by EY.
The campaign is in support of the Trust’s work preserving and interpreting Gibraltar’s rich past and will feature a new website. Chief Executive of the Gibraltar Heritage Trust Claire Montado explained that the membership drive was a effort to reach out to the community, both in Gibraltar and overseas ‘offering them the opportunity to support [their] valuable work.’
The campaign will see households across the rock receiving an introductory letter about the scheme, with an exclusive membership card attached. Members can activate their cards via www.gibraltarheritagetrust.org.gi. From there new members can input their membership information and pay online – three months are included free of charge.
Membership will offer discount rates on Trust souvenirs and publications as well as subscription to an e-newsletter and annual report. The Trust also runs, exclusively for members, an annual programme of visits to historical sites led by expert guides, with opportunities to see places not always open to the public. Members will help the Trust ‘celebrate our heritage’ and ‘encourage a revived global interest’.
