Minister For Sport “Acknowledges Island Games Success”
The Minister for Sport, Steven Linares, has publicly thanked Linda Alvarez, Reagan Lima, Kim Chang and the Gibraltar 2019 Island Games Organising Committee “for producing such an outstanding sporting event on the Rock.”
Minister Linares continued: “Thank you to the hard working team from GJBS, especially to their Project Managers Charles Savignon and Enda Conway, you have excelled. Well done and thank you to Team Gibraltar, the visiting islands, the 700 plus volunteers without whom these games would have not been possible, the staff at the Ministry of Sport, the Gibraltar Sports and Leisure Authority, Gibraltar Cultural Services, AKS, the Medical team lead by the GHA and supported by UCLAN, and the many Government departments involved in ensuring the Gibraltar 2019 NatWest International Games were enjoyed by all.
“Lastly and by no means least, the biggest THANK YOU goes out to the Gibraltar community at large for engaging and supporting the athletes and the games at all times during the week in what has been Gibraltar’s biggest sporting event ever. You have all been great ambassadors.
