June 06 - Drug Awareness Football Tournament
A series of drug awareness talks with the theme “Drugs, your choice of life.” delivered to Year 7 children by the RGP’s School Liaison Officers and Mr John Montegriffo of the Care Agency have culminated in an inter-school football tournament. Yesterday the Year 7 girls took to the field at the Hargreaves five-a-side pitch.
Played under the banner of the Mini-Olympiad “Live Life, Love Sport” girls from four schools, Bishop Fitzgerald School, St Anne’s School, St Joseph’s School and Sacred Heart School participated in the inter-school competition with the eventual winners being St Anne’s School.
Minister for Equality, Social Services and the Elderly Samantha Sacramento and the Commissioner of Police were present at the tournament following which Minister Sacramento presented the shield to the winning team and medals to all the participants.
