This morning saw new Chief Minister, Fabian Picardo’s first press conference in Number 6. The ministers sat around a large table with the Chief Minister at the head. Mr. Picardo announced Dr Joseph Garcia as his deputy, he then described the other ministers’ positions and the departments they will be responsible for. Mr. Picardo also highlighted his dedication to ‘e-government and e-commerce’, suggesting that his government would be more involved in Internet affairs than the previous.
Minister for Health and Environment has been appointed to Dr John Cortes, Minister for housing and the elderly has been appointed to Charles Bruzon, Minister for Equality and Social Services has been appointed to Samantha Sacramento, Minister for Education, Financial services, Gaming, Telecommunications and Justice has been appointed to Gilbert Licudi, Minister for Enterprise, Training and Employment has been appointed to Joe Bossano, Minister for Tourism, Public Transport and the port has wee appointed to Neil Costa, Minister for Traffic, Health & Safety and Technical Services has been appointed to Paul Balban and finally, Minister for Sports, Culture, Heritage and Youth has been appointed to Steven Linares.
