Oct 26 – European Commission To Visit Border Tomorrow
26 October 2015
Representatives from the European Commission are set to visit the border tomorrow. The visit was meant to be an unannounced spot check but it has been widely leaked by the Spanish press.
It is expected that the team will assess whether the Spanish authorities have implemented the Commission’s recommendations to improve the flow of traffic and pedestrians at the frontier.
However, Spanish sources also claim that the team will also keep a close eye on how Gibraltar’s law enforcement agencies are tackling tobacco smuggling.
