Nov 27 - GSD Candidate Lawrence Llamas Says He Is Excited To See The Outcome

As the count commenced, at approximately 11:30pm, first-time GSD candidate Lawrence Llamas spoke to Your Gibraltar TV about how five weeks of campaigning had gone.

"It’s been very different being on the other side. I’m normally on the counting side with the other civil servants," he said.

"It’s been extremely exciting and I can’t believe it’s all happened so quickly. The buzz has just taken us through the day and we’re really excited to see what the outcome is and I really hope we are able to put forward our policies."

Mr Llamas pushed the policies he is most passionate about, including those regarding education and tourism.

He said: "The policies which I drafted, which I feel passionate about, regarding bringing more inward investment into Gibraltar. At the same time we pledge to provide many things for locals. From a personal view, the policy that I’d really like to see followed through is our pledge to education."

Touching on how he’d spent the duration of election day, Mr Llamas told YGTV: "It’s been very exciting, I’ve enjoyed walking from station to station and meeting so many people.

"If we win, the first thing we’ll do is celebrate before being sworn into parliament. There are some important issues that we need to start planning ahead, the key issues like the power station and the finances.

"If I’m not in the top seven it means I’m going back to work on Monday and if so, it means starting to work hard for my community."
