Sep 23 - GWA Welcomes Licudi’s Apology
The Gibraltar Women’s Association (GWA) has said that it welcomes Minister Licudi's apology “in the wake of a public outcry at an incident of profanity” in parliament aimed at Ms Hassan Nahon.
A statement continued: “We acknowledge that he has proven to be not only a gentleman in accepting blame for the incident, but also a man of integrity with no further excuses forthcoming. We hope that in the future greater control will be exercised by public figures in all aspects, but especially during Parliamentary sessions. We also would like to thank the Honorable Speaker for investigating the incident. The GWA hope that all of Gibraltar's elected representatives can work together in the mutual aim of building a strong and united Gibraltar.”
GWA Supports Vocational Training
In a separate statement, the GWA says it fully supports the idea of vocational training as a route to local employment and would like to encourage the Government to explore avenues in which this can be achieved in the near future.
A spokesperson said: “We would like to encourage Joe Gingell to continue in his worthy fight for our youth and for those wishing a career change. The GWA was represented at the demonstration by committee member Zohra El Gharbaoui.”
