Feb 07 - Government Responds to Feetham ‘Electoral Fraud’ Comments
Following his appointment as GSD leader, Daniel Feetham accused the GSLP/ Liberal Government of perpetrating an ‘electoral fraud’ on the electorate, for not being able to deliver their manifesto commitments. The Government has today responded to the claim, noting that it is absurd and betrays a lack of understanding of what happened when the GSD repeated a number of pledges in two General Election manifestos because they were unable to deliver those pledges on time.
The Government recalls when the former GSD administration sent letters to hundreds of people on the housing waiting list, just before the 2007 general election, informing them that they had been allocated a home in a planned new rental estate in the area of Rooke when the estate did not exist.
The Government insists that Mr. Feetham has no right to accuse anyone of ‘electoral fraud’.
