28 July 2014
Diego Cañamero, a spokesman for the Sindicato Andaluz de Trabajadores (SAT) has reportedly announced that he and his supporters aim to occupy Gibraltar on the 29th August at 11am as a protest against “tax havens” and the British military presence on the Rock.
Snr. Cañamero informed his followers of his plan on Facebook and the announcement has been reported by La Linea Digital.
Snr. Cañamero shot to fame in the summer of 2012 after he led a group of SAT members to steal shopping trolleys full of groceries from a Mercadona supermarket in Ecija. The aim of that stunt was to provide needy families with food.
