Oct 09 - Rehearsals Underway For Evacuation Play

Rehearsals are underway for the production of ‘Llévame Donde Nací’ by The White Light Company, an evacuation play to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Evacuation.

The play tells the story of a family who are caught up in the struggles presented to them by a forced evacuation, as well as our battle for civil rights through the AACR, while at the same time trying to give a human face to the global conflict in which these people were caught up.

The idea was born from Rebecca Faller's script 'The Civil Garrison' written in 2004, and re-written and adapted for the stage by Director Jackie Villa and fellow director and script-writer Andrew Dark.

The production has a special appearance by Lourdes Galliano (an 88-year-old evacuation survivor and author of "A Rocky Passage to Exile"), her daughter Christina Galliano and her grandson Paul Gache - three generations treading the boards alongside each other.

Included in the cast are familiar and well-established local actors, with some new fresh faces: Aida Barea, Humbert Hernandez, Tony Loddo, Anne Balestrino, Louis Pitto, Adrian Balestrino, Kathyne Borge, Jeremy Victor, Anna Recagno, Roseanne Victor, Macarena Yagüe Fonseca, Alicia Quiros, Harry Gonzalez, Tim Seed, Julian Felice, Trevor Norton, Daniel Strain Webber, James Neish (playing a cameo role) Angela Jenkins and Kerry Marriott.

Performances will run from 16th - 21st November.  Tickets will go on sale as from 2nd November at the Ince’s Hall Box Office (6-8pm), at £10.  Tickets for the Gala Night, which includes the Evacuation Experience and a few surprises, will cost £15.
