Sep 12 - Unite Thanks Gib Music Fest Volunteers
Unite the Union would like to thank the following volunteers: Wendy Clouter, Daya Dewfall (Health Promotion G.H.A.), Steven King, Hannah Victor and Amy Hayward, who worked tirelessly at the Gibraltar Music Festival in the extreme heat to provide the festival goers and staff with free sunscreen.
This service, initiated by Unite the Union (Health & Safety), proved to be a huge success. With temperatures soaring throughout the day it helped to prevent sunburn.
Unite would also like to thank the Government of Gibraltar, especially Mr Steven Linares (Minister for Culture) for providing the sunscreen free of charge and all those people who used the service, offering kind words of gratitude and support.
A spokesperson for Unite, Wendy Clouter, said:
“This service proved to be very much needed on such a hot day, although we would always encourage people to bring their own sunscreen to such an event, we were there for those who were caught out on the day”.
