A lecture entitled "Health And The Heart" by Dr. Luis Inigo - Garcia, a cardiologist at the Costa del Sol hospital in Marbella, was delivered yesterday evening at the Instituto Cervantes in Gibraltar.

The cardiologist spoke about the major cardiovascular risk factors such as blood pressure, cholesterol, physical inactivity, obesity, diabetes and smoking.

He also discussed the basic methods for the diagnosis of cardiovascular disease and the current treatment options that exist. 

"Prevention is essential to reduce the probability of cardiovascular disease," he said, adding that cardiovascular disease is very prevalent in Andalucía.
