Autumn Classical Concert Set For 21st October

The annual Autumn Classical Concert will take place at The Convent Ballroom on Wednesday 21st October at 8pm, organised by Gibraltar Cultural Services in conjunction with the Gibraltar Philharmonic Society.

The European Sinfonietta Strings, directed by violinist Lilit Poghosyan, will perform a programme of classical works by Turina, Borodin, Britten, Grieg and Bartók. Tickets cost £25, with a limited number of £12 tickets for senior citizens and free tickets for students available from the John Mackintosh Hall reception.

Gibraltar Cultural Services, on behalf of the Ministry of Culture and in conjunction with the Gibraltar Philharmonic Society, is delighted to announce this year’s Autumn Classical Concert, a highlight in our autumn cultural programme. The event will take place on Wednesday 21st October 2026 at The Convent Ballroom at 8pm. 

This year’s concert will feature a performance of ‘Romantic Classics’ by the distinguished European Sinfonietta Strings, under the direction of renowned violinist and Director Lilit Poghosyan. 

The programme is as follows. 

• Joaquín Turina: La oración del torrero, Op. 34 

• Alexander Borodin: String Quartet No. 2 in D Major: III Notturno 

• Benjamin Britten: Simple Symphony, Op. 4 

• Edvard Grieg: Holberg Suite, Op. 40 

• Béla Bartok: Romanian Folk Dances, Sz. 56, BB 68 

Tickets are priced at £25 and will be available online at buytickets.gi. A limited number of tickets priced at £12 for Senior Citizens as well as Student tickets free of charge will be available from the John Mackintosh Hall reception at 308 Main Street.
