Government To Respond To Sovereign Wealth Fund Questions In Parliament

The Government says it will respond to all 35 GSD questions on the Gibraltar Sovereign Wealth Fund during next week's sitting of Parliament.

A statement from the Government follows below:

HM Government of Gibraltar notes Mr Clinton’s statement to the media about his intention to ask questions on the Sovereign Wealth Fund at the next sitting of Parliament. 

The Government looks forward to answering all 35 of Mr Clinton’s questions in Parliament so that all citizens and taxpayers can have all the correct information about the excellent initiative being pursued by the Government in establishing the Gibraltar Sovereign Wealth Fund. This will ensure that the public are not misled or unnecessarily concerned by the GSD’s alarmist approach to something as positive for our community as the Gibraltar Sovereign Wealth Fund. 

The Chief Minister, the Hon Fabian Picardo KC MP, said: ‘I look forward to answering Mr Clinton’s questions and laying out for the public all the benefits that it will bring for our community and our long-term financial security. I trust that there will be no cynicism in the approach from Mr Clinton to our initiative and that he will fully support the Gibraltar Sovereign Wealth Fund and the potential for it to produce magnificent results for our people and in particular future generations of Gibraltarians."
