Royal Gibraltar Regiment Insight Weekend

The Royal Gibraltar Regiment will hold its third Insight Weekend from 16th to 18th October for young people aged 15 and over.

The Royal Gibraltar Regiment (RG) will host its third Insight Weekend from 16 to 18  October 2026, offering young people the opportunity to experience military life firsthand at  Devil's Tower Camp. 

The three-day residential event is designed for individuals aged 15 and over who are  considering a military career and would like to gain a realistic insight into life in the Regiment  before making any commitment. 

Throughout the weekend, participants will take part in a range of activities that reflect key  aspects of military life, including marching and drill, military training, and fieldcraft. The  programme is also designed to develop teamwork, communication, and leadership skills  while encouraging participants to challenge themselves both physically and mentally. 

Previous attendees have praised the experience, with one participant saying, “I really  enjoyed all the different activities we got to do and seeing what life in the Regiment is  actually like.”  

Another added, “The paintballing was definitely one of my favourite parts, it was really fun  and was a great way to get everyone working together.” 

Accommodation and meals will be provided for the duration of the event, giving attendees  the opportunity to experience the routine, discipline, and camaraderie that form an important  part of service life. 

Importantly, there is no obligation to join the Royal Gibraltar Regiment following the  weekend. The Insight Weekend provides an opportunity to meet serving soldiers, ask  questions, and gain a better understanding of the opportunities available within the  Regiment before deciding whether a military career is right for them. 

CSgt Craig Payne, Recruitment Lead, said: “This is a great opportunity for young people to  come along, see what we do and experience life in the Royal Gibraltar Regiment for  themselves. It’s a chance to get involved, challenge yourself and find out what the Regiment  has to offer.”

Following the success of the previous two Insight Weekends, the Regiment is once again  inviting young people to step outside their comfort zones, learn new skills, and discover what  they are capable of achieving.
