CorreLibre To Celebrate 500th Run On Saturday

CorreLibre will mark 500th run on Saturday 13th December.
A statement from CorreLibre follows below:
CorreLibre, the free, weekly, timed 5.3km community run, will mark a major milestone next Saturday, 13 December, with its 500th event.
Since its launch, CorreLibre has grown into a fixture of local life, bringing together runners of all ages and abilities to share fitness, friendship, and fun.
We’ve also added a 3.5km walk alongside the 5.3km run.
-
In 2016, CorreLibre recorded just 70 individual runs.
-
In 2025 so far, participation has soared to 1,118 individual runs — a testament to the club’s growth and community spirit.
-
The event has welcomed over 35 runners at peak attendance, showing the strength of local support.
CorreLibre also celebrates the dedication of its most consistent runners. Leading the way is David Bruce, with an incredible 343 runs, followed by Joe Perdoni (298) and Paul Garner (236). Other stalwarts include Claus Olesen (210), Carol Boddy (181), and Michaela Rees (180), alongside many more who have made CorreLibre part of their weekly ritual. In fact, Joe Perdoni will be running his 300th run as we get to our 500 milestone!
CorreLibre’s 500th run will take place at the usual time and place – a 9:00am start on the Bateria. All are welcome to join — whether to run, jog, walk, or cheer. More details are on our Facebook group or our website www.correlibre.club.
The milestone is not just about numbers, but about the community that has grown around the event: friendships forged, goals achieved, and a shared love of running free. Not to mention breakfast after the run / walk at the Piccadilly!
CorreLibre: 500 runs, countless memories — and many more to come.
