Sunil Chandiramani Selected For ICC U19 Tournament

Sunil Chandiramani was appointed by the ICC to officiate at the Under-19 Men's Cricket World Cup Europe Division 2 Qualifier in Guernsey.

Following the recent announcement that Gibraltar Cricket umpire Sunil Chandiramani has been appointed to the ICC Global Development Panel A, Gibraltar Cricket is delighted to share further excellent news. 

Sunil has now been appointed by the International Cricket Council (ICC) to officiate at the ICC Under-19 Men's Cricket World Cup Europe Division 2 Qualifier, taking place this week in Guernsey. 

The tournament will feature the next generation of European cricketing talent, with the participating teams being: 

Group A 

• Guernsey 

• France 

• Belgium 

• Germany 

• Group B 

• Sweden 

• Italy 

• Isle of Man 

• Switzerland 

Sunil first became involved in umpiring in 2001 and qualified as a Level 1 Umpire in 2002.

Since focusing on his umpiring career in 2006, he has continued to develop both domestically and internationally, earning recognition through consistent performances and dedication to the game.

His recent appointment to the ICC Global Development Panel A is a significant achievement. The panel comprises just 36 umpires worldwide, with only 8 representing Europe, highlighting the calibre of officials selected by the ICC. 

Sunil, who is currently preparing for the tournament, said he is honoured to return to the international umpiring arena after four years. 

Commenting on his appointment, Sunil said: "My main objective is always to demonstrate that I can perform consistently at the highest standard and continue to establish myself in the international game. On the field, my priority is to ensure that players can compete in a fair, safe and enjoyable environment. Above all, I am immensely proud to represent Gibraltar on the international stage and hope to do both Gibraltar Cricket and our community proud."
