New ‘Bookside Chats’ Literary Series Launches At BOOKgem

Local lovers of reading, writing and storytelling are invited to the inaugural Bookside Chats event, a new series of relaxed, 'fireside' chats created to celebrate local writers and foster community engagement with literature. The series debuts on Wednesday 14th October from 6:00–7:00 pm at BOOKGem, featuring local author Sonia Golt.

Hosted by Jackie Anderson and Julian Felice, Bookside Chats aims to encourage attendees to connect with local literature as both readers and aspiring writers. The initiative provides a platform for the public to meet local authors, learn about their background, creative processes, and inspirations, and discuss the practical challenges involved in writing.

The event will open with a half-hour interview with Sonia Golt exploring books, writing, and creativity, followed by an open Q&A session with the audience. To help attendees discover new literature, Sonia Golt will also share three personal book recommendations during the session.

Supported by Gibraltar Cultural Services and with the help of BOOKgem, this launch event is the first in an ongoing series planned to run every month.
