Aqualand’s All Year, All Play Opens At Eastern Beach Next Week

Aqualand Gibraltar has announced further details of its new seasonal attraction, All Year, All Play, opening at Eastern Beach on 12th November. The first phase will include a synthetic ice rink, inflatable playground, football and volleyball pitches, and barbecue facilities, with activities running mainly from Thursday to Sunday, weather permitting. Tickets go on sale on 10th November at aqualand.gi, with a second phase planned for 7th December.
A statement from Aqualand follows below:
Aqualand Gibraltar is pleased to announce the launch of Aqualand All Year, All Play, a new seasonal initiative designed to bring families, young people and the wider community together at Eastern Beach throughout the autumn, winter and spring months.
Opening on Thursday 12th November, the first phase will introduce a range of attractions and activities located on the sand directly in front of Udaya Restaurant and across the surrounding beach area at Eastern Beach, offering residents and visitors a new way to enjoy one of Gibraltar’s best-known beaches outside the traditional summer season.
The first phase will feature a synthetic ice skating rink, inflatable playground, inflatable football and volleyball pitches, and Aqualand’s barbecue doughnuts, which will be positioned on land to provide families and groups with a different outdoor dining experience. Visitors will have the option of organising their own barbecues or choosing from food packages provided by Aqualand.
The attractions will operate primarily from Thursday to Sunday, as well as during school holidays, mid-term breaks and festive periods, subject to weather conditions.
Aqualand will have weather contingency plans in place throughout the season, working closely with the relevant local authorities and monitoring conditions through dedicated weather applications and forecasts. Recognising that Gibraltar can experience periods of unsettled and stormy weather during the autumn and winter months, the company will take a cautious approach to operations, with visitor safety remaining the priority.
As a result, attractions may not operate on certain scheduled days, including Thursdays to Sundays, where weather conditions are considered unsuitable. Opening decisions will be made based on the latest forecasts and conditions, with any changes, postponements or closures communicated through Aqualand’s website and social media channels as early as possible.
While most activities will take place during the day, the synthetic ice skating rink will also operate into the evenings, giving families and young people another opportunity to enjoy the facilities after school and work.
Visitors will be able to purchase a day pass, with wristbands providing access to the attractions included in their chosen ticket. Full details, including ticket options, age requirements and operating information, will be available through the official Aqualand website.
A new experience for Gibraltar’s community
At the heart of All Year, All Play is a commitment to creating more opportunities for families and young people to spend time together.
Dylan Trenado, Chief Marketing Officer, said:
“We want Aqualand to be much more than a summer attraction. Gibraltar has a wonderful community, and we believe there is an opportunity to create something that families and young people can enjoy throughout the quieter months of the year.
“Our vision for All Year, All Play is simple. We want to bring people together, give our younger generation more things to do and create a welcoming atmosphere where families and friends can spend quality time together.
“This is only our first phase, and we hope to build on it by working with local organisations, charities and community groups to make this something Gibraltar can truly enjoy.”
Aqualand is also looking to collaborate with local arts and crafts groups, charities and music associations, with the aim of introducing community activities, entertainment and special events as the programme develops.
Phase Two arriving on 7th December
The opening on 12th November marks the first of two planned phases for the seasonal programme.
Phase Two will launch on Monday 7th December 2026, introducing a further attraction to the All Year, All Play experience.
Details of the new attraction will be announced shortly after the opening of Phase One, giving residents and visitors something else to look forward to as Gibraltar approaches the festive season.
The phased approach will allow Aqualand to introduce new experiences gradually while continuing to develop its seasonal offering for the community.
Respecting Eastern Beach and its environment
Aqualand has emphasised that Eastern Beach will remain a public beach and that the new seasonal attractions will not change its status or prevent the public from continuing to enjoy the area.
The activities will be concentrated on the sand in front of Udaya Restaurant and the surrounding beach area, with the intention of making use of the space during the quieter months while respecting the needs of other beach users.
With the exception of the synthetic ice skating rink, which will remain in place during the seasonal programme, attractions will be temporary and installed only for scheduled operating days.
All seasonal attractions, including the skating rink, will be removed ahead of the traditional spring and summer beach season, ensuring Eastern Beach can return to its usual summer use.
Aqualand will also dedicate its own resources to cleaning, waste management and recycling throughout the programme, taking responsibility for maintaining the areas used by its attractions.
Speaking about the importance of protecting Eastern Beach, Dylan Trenado added:
“Eastern Beach belongs to the people of Gibraltar, and we fully recognise the importance of protecting it. Our intention is to make better use of the space during the quieter months without compromising its public character or natural surroundings.
“We will have our own teams responsible for cleaning and recycling, and we will ensure that our temporary attractions are removed when they are not in use. We want this initiative to be something positive for the whole community.”
Looking ahead to summer 2027
All Year, All Play marks another stage in the development of Aqualand Gibraltar.
While not all the attractions originally planned for 2026 were introduced, the team has continued working on its longer-term plans, with further announcements about its summer 2027 offering expected in the coming months.
For now, the focus is on making the most of Gibraltar’s autumn, winter and spring seasons and establishing a programme that residents and visitors can look forward to.
Tickets available from Tuesday 10th November
