Convent Christmas Fair Committee Fund Donates £1000 To Calpe House

The Convent Christmas Fair Committee has donated £1,000 to Calpe House, with the money coming from funds raised through previous Christmas Fairs.
A statement from the Convent follows below:
The Convent is pleased to announce a donation of £1,000 to Calpe House, the Gibraltar-based charity that provides accommodation and support for Gibraltarians undergoing medical treatment in the United Kingdom.
The donation comes from Convent Christmas Fair funds and the Committee recently took a decision to disperse additional funding that has accumulated to a number of Gibraltar Charities. The Convent Christmas Fair Committee was unanimous in selecting Caple House as the most worthy recipient of additional funding to support their important work.
His Excellency the Governor welcomed Albert Poggio, Executive Chairman on behalf of the Calpe House Board of Trustees, to the Convent to receive the donation which will support the charity's ongoing work in assisting patients and their families during what can often be challenging periods away from home.
After receiving the donation, Albert Poggio said:
‘I am eternally grateful to the Convent Christmas Fair Committee and His Excellency for their support for Calpe House and the donation we have received today. The Calpe House belongs to the people of Gibraltar, and this donation will go towards our ongoing costs to support those in the community that need our help.’
This donation, and several others to follow, is being made in the lead up to this year’s Convent Christmas Fair, which will take place on Thursday 26th November 2026 from 1200-1730. Further announcements will be made for applications from those who wish to have a stall at this year’s Convent Christmas Fair.
