A statement from the GSD follows below:
The Leader of the Opposition, Keith Azopardi has announced a mini reshuffle of responsibilities effective from 1 November 2026.
Craig Sacarello adds the Environment to his responsibilities. He retains Business, Inward Investment, trade, industry and postal services.
Giovanni Origo adds Utilities and Community & Civic Engagement to his responsibilities. He retains Tourism, Youth & Transport.
Mr Azopardi said: “the reassignment of these responsibilities will allow greater experience in diverse areas for individual members of the team ahead of the next election which makes sense all round and will increase our flexibility on the handling of future issues. I’ve discussed the reassignment of these specific areas with Craig and Giovanni in the last few days to ensure the most seamless and effective transfer of responsibilities as we go towards the next meeting of Parliament.”
