Local Man Sentenced To 14 Years For Child Sex Offences

A 43-year-old local man has been sentenced to 14 years in prison after being convicted of multiple sexual offences against children.

Clayton Busto was found guilty of 16 offences involving four victims, relating to offences committed between 2007 and 2016. The RGP said the investigation began after concerns were raised through two local support charities.

A statement from the RGP follows below:

Clayton BUSTO, 43, has today been sentenced to 14 years' imprisonment at the Supreme  Court following his conviction for multiple sexual offences against children. 

BUSTO was found guilty by a jury in June 2026 of 16 offences involving four victims,  committed between 2007 and 2016.  

The offences included sexual activity with a child and encouraging sexual activity. All the  victims are now adults. 

Detectives from the Royal Gibraltar Police Safeguarding Team commenced their  investigation after concerns were raised through two local support charities. 

An extensive investigation conducted by detectives led to Busto's arrest in June 2023, and  the subsequent charges preferred against him. 

The RGP would like to thank the victims for their bravery and dignity throughout what has  been a lengthy investigation and trial.
